Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and submit medical claims to insurance payers (Medicare, Medicaid, Private Insurance).
- Review and verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to services.
- Manage claims denials and appeals process to maximize reimbursement rates.
- Perform regular follow-ups on outstanding accounts receivable.
- Utilize EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth) to document billing activities.
- Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical coding standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies.
Qualifications
- Certification (CCS, CPC, RHIT, or RHIA) preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in medical billing and coding.
- In-depth knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
- Strong proficiency in medical billing software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote or hybrid setting.
