Responsibilities
- Accurately code and submit medical claims using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Manage and resolve claim denials with 95%+ accuracy rate
- Conduct comprehensive patient account reconciliation and follow-up
- Optimize revenue cycle processes through data analysis
- Ensure HIPAA compliance in all billing operations
- Collaborate with clinical teams to resolve billing discrepancies
- Generate monthly financial performance reports
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in acute care settings
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC credential required
- Expertise in Epic or Cerner revenue cycle modules
- Advanced knowledge of payer policies (Medicare, Medi-Cal, commercial)
- Experience with denial analysis and appeals processes
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and billing analytics tools
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
