Responsibilities
- Accurately code and submit medical claims using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS systems
- Manage accounts receivable and resolve claim denials efficiently
- Conduct thorough insurance verification and pre-authorization processes
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and healthcare billing regulations
- Generate detailed financial reports for departmental analysis
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure accurate documentation
- Utilize advanced billing software (Epic, Athenahealth) for revenue cycle management
- Train new billing staff on established protocols and best practices
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of medical billing experience in a hospital or clinic setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Expert knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and billing platforms
- Strong analytical skills with attention to financial detail
- Experience with insurance claim appeals and denial management
