Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly and professionally, managing the front desk operations with efficiency.
- Schedule patient appointments, manage provider calendars, and send automated reminders to reduce no-shows.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and process new patient registrations accurately and in a timely manner.
- Handle incoming calls, manage correspondence, and direct inquiries to the appropriate medical staff.
- Collect co-payments and process payments received, ensuring accurate daily deposits.
- Maintain and update electronic medical records (EMR) in strict compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with billing specialists to resolve insurance claims and address patient billing inquiries.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or certification in Medical Office Administration is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical receptionist or front desk role.
- Proficiency with EMR systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong working knowledge of medical terminology, insurance processes, and CPT coding.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical setting.
- Must possess a professional demeanor, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.
