Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, managing check-in and check-out processes efficiently.
- Answer and route incoming phone calls with exceptional phone etiquette, taking detailed messages when necessary.
- Schedule patient appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and collect copayments or co-insurance as required.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the front desk area and waiting room to ensure a welcoming atmosphere.
- Handle patient inquiries regarding services, hours, and directions with patience and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; medical terminology certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a medical front desk or administrative support role preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic scheduling software.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work well under pressure.
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and patient privacy regulations is highly desirable.
- Must be detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in data entry.
