Responsibilities
- Perform routine and complex venipunctures and capillary draws with precision and patient comfort in mind.
- Accurately label, process, and transport biological specimens to the laboratory under strict chain-of-custody protocols.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and OSHA safety standards to ensure patient privacy and safety.
- Provide exceptional patient education and customer service during procedures to alleviate anxiety.
- Manage inventory of phlebotomy supplies and ensure all equipment is sanitized and functional.
- Collaborate with nursing and medical staff to ensure seamless patient flow and care coordination.
Qualifications
- Current ASCP or equivalent Phlebotomy certification required.
- Valid Arizona State Phlebotomy license (if applicable).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and specimen handling procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume medical setting.
