Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, and specimen collection with precision and patient comfort
- Ensure proper labeling, handling, and transportation of laboratory specimens
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation following HIPAA guidelines
- Operate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment including analyzers and centrifuges
- Collaborate with physicians and lab teams to ensure timely test processing
- Implement infection control protocols and maintain a sterile workspace
- Provide exceptional patient care during high-volume and high-stress situations
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NHA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical phlebotomy experience
- BLS/CPR certification and up-to-date immunization records
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and CLIA compliance standards
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced healthcare environments
- Valid North Carolina driver's license (if specimen transport required)
- Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology preferred
