Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, and specialized blood collection procedures with precision
- Process and transport specimens while maintaining strict chain-of-custody protocols
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain accurate patient documentation
- Operate advanced laboratory equipment including automated analyzers
- Provide patient education on pre-test preparation and procedure protocols
- Collaborate with laboratory and clinical teams for seamless workflow
- Adhere to OSHA safety standards and infection control procedures
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification from ASCP or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of clinical phlebotomy experience in acute care setting
- Proven proficiency in pediatric, geriatric, and difficult venipuncture
- Strong knowledge of CLIA and CAP compliance standards
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Associate's degree in Medical Technology or related field preferred
- Exceptional communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights/weekends
