Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws with precision and patient comfort
- Process and transport specimens to laboratory departments following strict protocols
- Maintain accurate patient records and specimen documentation
- Ensure proper specimen handling, labeling, and storage procedures
- Adhere to OSHA, CLIA, and HIPAA compliance standards
- Provide exceptional patient care during specimen collection procedures
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient workflow
- Train junior staff on phlebotomy techniques and best practices
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NCCT, or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical phlebotomy experience
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems (EHR)
- Excellent venipuncture skills with minimal blood draw attempts
- Strong communication and patient interaction abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation
