Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections with precision and minimal patient discomfort
- Process and handle specimens according to CLIA and OSHA regulations
- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health systems
- Ensure proper labeling, storage, and transportation of biological samples
- Provide exceptional patient communication and care during procedures
- Calibrate and maintain phlebotomy equipment and supplies
- Collaborate with lab and clinical teams for seamless workflow
Qualifications
- Current Texas Phlebotomy Technician certification (PTCB or ASCP preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical phlebotomy experience
- Proven expertise in pediatric, geriatric, and difficult-stick collections
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Familiarity with EMR systems (Epic experience preferred)
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume settings
- Strong attention to detail and infection control protocols
