Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, and specialized blood collection procedures
- Ensure sample integrity through proper labeling, handling, and processing
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment including centrifuges and analyzers
- Provide exceptional patient care with emphasis on comfort and infection control
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient workflows
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives and continuous improvement programs
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, AMT, or NHA)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical phlebotomy experience
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Proven ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional interpersonal skills
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Valid North Carolina driver's license for specimen transport
