Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgery, ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly and sterile.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies, strictly maintaining a sterile field.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments pre- and post-operatively to ensure patient safety.
- Monitor the patient's vital signs and report any abnormalities immediately to the nursing staff or surgeon.
- Position and transport patients safely to and from the operating room.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Document patient data accurately and maintain patient confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Operating Room Technician (COR) required.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical center setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and surgical procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients up to 250 lbs.
