As a Medical Assistant, you will be the vital link between our patients and providers, ensuring a smooth and efficient healthcare experience.
Responsibilities
- Patient Preparation: Greet patients warmly, verify demographics, and prepare them for examinations by taking vital signs and recording medical histories.
- Clinical Support: Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during exams, ensuring patient comfort and proper positioning.
- Procedures: Administer injections, perform venipuncture, and assist with minor office procedures as directed.
- Lab Work: Collect and process blood and urine specimens, maintaining strict adherence to laboratory safety protocols.
- Charting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) documenting patient encounters and outcomes.
- Coordination: Schedule follow-up appointments, coordinate specialist referrals, and manage prescription refills.
- Infection Control: Adhere to all infection prevention and control standards to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) certification required.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a family practice or outpatient setting preferred.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic medical records systems (Epic, AthenaHealth, or similar).
- Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients of all ages.
- Professionalism: High level of professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
