Responsibilities
- Assess patient health problems, needs, and recovery progress by observing, symptom checking, and reviewing medical records.
- Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols and physician orders.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized patient care plans.
- Monitor patient vital signs and update medical records accurately and promptly.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families regarding diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Respond quickly to medical emergencies and initiate appropriate interventions.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patient care.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered RN license in the state of New York.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience preferred (Med-Surg or ICU experience a plus).
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift patients as needed.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
