Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields and surgical instruments for complex procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations with instrument passing and equipment management
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce aseptic techniques
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
- Inventory and manage surgical supplies/equipment
- Document procedural details accurately in electronic health records
- Train junior staff on latest surgical protocols
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 3 years of OR experience in general surgery
- BLS/CPR certification with current ACLS preferred
- Expertise in robotic-assisted surgery systems
- Ability to anticipate surgeon needs in high-pressure situations
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing standards
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to cover on-call shifts
