Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense prescription medications with precision and attention to detail
- Verify prescription orders for accuracy and compliance with regulations
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation
- Provide exceptional customer service and medication counseling to patients
- Utilize pharmacy software for record-keeping and insurance processing
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA and pharmacy safety protocols
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians
- Collaborate with pharmacists on complex medication therapy reviews
Qualifications
- Active Virginia Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 2 years of retail/hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Strong attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and drug interactions
- Valid CPR certification preferred
