Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Monitor inventory of surgical supplies and equipment
- Transport patients and specimens to/from operating rooms
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Maintain compliance with OSHA and JCAHO standards
- Train junior surgical technologists on advanced techniques
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Level 1 trauma center
- Experience with orthopedic and neurosurgical specialties
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems
- Ability to stand for 8+ hours in fast-paced environments
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of sterile processing protocols
