Responsibilities
- Assess patient acuity and prioritize emergency cases using evidence-based protocols
- Collaborate with physicians and specialists to coordinate immediate care pathways
- Maintain accurate electronic health records with detailed triage documentation
- Provide critical patient education and discharge instructions
- Lead quality improvement initiatives for triage processes
- Mentor junior staff on emergency department protocols
- Participate in hospital-wide emergency response drills
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Ohio (or compact state)
- Minimum 3 years emergency department experience
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- BSN degree preferred (MSN for leadership track)
- Exceptional critical thinking and communication skills
- Experience with Epic EMR systems
- Demonstrated ability to manage high-pressure situations
