Responsibilities
- Conduct rapid patient assessments and prioritize emergency cases using ESI protocols
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely interventions
- Maintain accurate electronic health records while documenting critical patient information
- Provide compassionate patient education regarding emergency procedures and wait times
- Oversee bed allocation and coordinate with ancillary departments for efficient patient flow
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives for triage accuracy
- Train new staff on emergency department triage procedures and standards
Qualifications
- Current Louisiana RN license with minimum 3 years ER/Triage experience
- BSN or BSN candidate required (MSN preferred)
- ACLS, TNCC, and ENPC certifications mandatory
- Proven expertise in ESI 5-level triage methodology
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Strong communication skills for high-pressure interactions
- Experience with Epic EMR system
- BLS certification with no lapse in renewal
