Responsibilities
- Claims Processing: Review medical records and verify patient information to ensure accuracy before submitting claims (CMS-1500).
- Insurance Follow-Up: Monitor claim status, identify unpaid or denied claims, and follow up with insurance payers to resolve issues.
- Account Reconciliation: Post payments and adjustments to patient accounts and perform daily/monthly reconciliation of financial records.
- Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA privacy standards and company billing policies.
- Customer Service: Assist patients with billing inquiries and explain insurance coverage clearly.
- Software Management: Utilize EHR and billing software to maintain up-to-date patient records and billing logs.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Healthcare Administration is a plus.
- Experience: No prior experience required; we are looking for eager learners.
- Computer Skills: Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn medical billing software quickly.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors in data entry and medical codes.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with patients and insurance providers.
