Responsibilities
- Perform detailed clinical assessments of patient symptoms via phone and secure messaging to determine appropriate levels of care.
- Make rapid, evidence-based clinical decisions regarding emergency referrals, hospital admission, or home care instructions.
- Collaborate seamlessly with physicians, nurse practitioners, and care coordinators to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain precise and up-to-date documentation within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Manage high-volume patient queues, prioritizing critical cases while maintaining a positive patient experience.
- Provide patient education and emotional support to families during stressful medical situations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance triage protocols and patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Current and active RN license issued by the State of Alaska.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience, with specific expertise in triage or telehealth nursing.
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
