Responsibilities
- Preparation: Assist in the preparation of the operating room and sterile field before surgery begins.
- Assistance: Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons during procedures, anticipating their needs.
- Instrument Care: Ensure all surgical instruments are properly cleaned, sterilized, and organized.
- Patient Safety: Maintain strict aseptic technique and adhere to infection control protocols.
- Documentation: Accurately document procedures and surgical counts as required by facility policy.
- Equipment Management: Verify and handle all provided surgical equipment according to safety guidelines.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or completion of an accredited program.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting preferred.
- Licensure: Active RN or Surgical Tech license in the State of California.
- Basic Life Support: BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work in a team.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and handle physical demands of the OR.
