As a Triage Nurse, you'll be the first point of contact for patients experiencing medical emergencies, requiring sharp clinical judgment and exceptional communication skills. Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessments using the Emergency Severity Index (ESI) protocol
- Provide accurate triage decisions for patients across all age groups and acuity levels
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to prioritize care delivery
- Utilize Epic EHR systems to document patient encounters and vital information
- Delicate crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques in high-stress situations
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and hospital protocols
- Mentor junior nursing staff and participate in quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of California
- Minimum 3 years of emergency department or urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- BSN degree preferred (ADN candidates with extensive experience considered)
- Proven expertise in rapid patient assessment and critical decision-making
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Experience with Epic EHR systems preferred
