Responsibilities

  • Assist the dentist during examinations and various dental procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Prepare and sterilize all dental instruments and equipment according to strict infection control protocols.
  • Take and develop high-quality dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed by the dentist.
  • Greet patients warmly, review medical histories, and prepare them for treatment.
  • Instruct patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care instructions.
  • Manage and maintain accurate dental supply inventory and ordering.
  • Assist with chair-side duties, including taking impressions and pouring models.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited dental assisting program (preferred).
  • Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) credentials.
  • Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure in Texas.
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient comfort.
