Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and various dental procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
- Prepare and sterilize all dental instruments and equipment according to strict infection control protocols.
- Take and develop high-quality dental radiographs (X-rays) as directed by the dentist.
- Greet patients warmly, review medical histories, and prepare them for treatment.
- Instruct patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care instructions.
- Manage and maintain accurate dental supply inventory and ordering.
- Assist with chair-side duties, including taking impressions and pouring models.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited dental assisting program (preferred).
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) credentials.
- Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure in Texas.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control standards.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient comfort.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
