Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications and monitor for any changes in health status or side effects.
- Companionship: Engage clients in conversation, play games, read aloud, or accompany them on community outings to reduce loneliness and promote mental well-being.
- Light Housekeeping: Assist with meal preparation, light cleaning, laundry, and changing linens to ensure a safe and sanitary living environment.
- Transports: Provide safe transportation to and from medical appointments, grocery stores, or social events.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely records of daily activities, incidents, and client progress in our electronic health record system.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature as directed by the nursing supervisor.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current and valid California Home Health Aide (HHA) Certificate or CNA license.
- Experience: Previous experience in home health or geriatric care is preferred but not mandatory.
- Driver's License: Valid Driver's License and a reliable, insured vehicle for client transport.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a compassionate and patient demeanor.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, transfer, and assist clients with mobility; ability to stand for extended periods.
- Background Check: Must pass a comprehensive background check, including criminal history and drug screening.
