Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature as directed by the nurse.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding clients with special dietary needs.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to ensure the client's mental well-being.
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, vacuuming, and changing linens to maintain a safe environment.
- Accompany clients to medical appointments, therapy sessions, or social outings.
- Administer prescribed medications and document administration logs accurately.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Current Louisiana State HHA or CNA certification/license is mandatory.
- Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Previous experience in home health or geriatric care is preferred.
