Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and record vital signs, weight, and general physical condition to report any changes to the nursing supervisor.
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding according to specific dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients to reduce isolation and improve mental well-being.
- Transport clients to medical appointments, therapy sessions, and social activities as needed.
- Perform light housekeeping and laundry tasks specifically related to the care of the patient.
- Administer prescribed medications and document administration accurately in accordance with care plans.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Current Massachusetts Home Health Aide Certification (HHA) or CNA license.
- Valid Driver's License and reliable personal transportation.
- Current CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with patients and families.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs frequently throughout the shift.
- Experience in home health, geriatric care, or patient care is preferred but not always required.
