Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, weight, and general physical condition to report any changes to the nursing supervisor.
  • Prepare meals and assist with feeding according to specific dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients to reduce isolation and improve mental well-being.
  • Transport clients to medical appointments, therapy sessions, and social activities as needed.
  • Perform light housekeeping and laundry tasks specifically related to the care of the patient.
  • Administer prescribed medications and document administration accurately in accordance with care plans.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Current Massachusetts Home Health Aide Certification (HHA) or CNA license.
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable personal transportation.
  • Current CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with patients and families.
  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs frequently throughout the shift.
  • Experience in home health, geriatric care, or patient care is preferred but not always required.
