Responsibilities
- Provide direct personal care to patients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring patient safety and comfort using proper techniques.
- Prepare and serve meals according to special dietary requirements and preferences.
- Monitor and record vital signs, mood, and behavior changes, reporting any concerns to the nursing supervisor immediately.
- Perform light housekeeping duties such as laundry, making beds, and cleaning to maintain a sanitary living environment.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to patients to alleviate feelings of isolation.
- Accurately document daily care activities and patient updates in electronic health records.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Current Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is preferred.
- Valid state driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
- Must pass a background check, drug screen, and physical examination.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions precisely.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) is highly desirable.
