Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and oral hygiene to maintain their dignity and comfort.
- Mobility Assistance: Help patients move around the home, transfer in and out of bed or chairs, and provide ambulation support.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take their medications at prescribed times and report any side effects or missed doses to the nurse or supervisor.
- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious, appetizing meals that meet the client's dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Companionship: Engage clients in conversation, read to them, or accompany them on walks to reduce isolation and improve mental well-being.
- Housekeeping: Light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, changing linens, and cleaning kitchen areas to maintain a sanitary living environment.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and record vital signs, including weight, temperature, and blood pressure, as directed.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of California.
- Experience: Prior experience in home health or long-term care is preferred but not always required for the right candidate.
- Valid License: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required for client travel.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact respectfully with patients and families.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift patients (up to 50 lbs) for extended periods.
- Compassion: Genuine passion for helping others and a patient, kind demeanor.
