In this role, you will provide vital support to patients in their homes, helping them maintain their independence and improve their quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Medication Monitoring: Remind clients to take medications as prescribed and report any side effects or concerns to the supervising nurse immediately.
- Meal Planning & Preparation: Prepare nutritious meals based on dietary restrictions and assist with feeding if necessary.
- Household Support: Perform light housekeeping duties such as laundry, making beds, and cleaning to ensure a safe and comfortable living environment.
- Companionship: Provide emotional support and engage clients in conversation and social activities to reduce feelings of isolation.
- Transportation: Drive clients to medical appointments, therapy sessions, or grocery runs as part of the care plan.
- Documentation: Accurately complete daily logs and care plans regarding the client's condition and daily activities.
Qualifications
- Certification: Valid California Home Health Aide (HHA) certificate or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
- Driver’s License: Valid California driver’s license and reliable personal transportation.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to interact respectfully with patients and families.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods while assisting clients.
- Reliability: Proven track record of punctuality and dependability in a healthcare setting.
- Empathy: A genuine passion for helping the elderly and individuals with disabilities.
