Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense and compound medications following prescription protocols
- Manage medication inventory with precision and maintain proper storage conditions
- Provide exceptional patient counseling on medication usage and side effects
- Utilize pharmacy software (e.g., Omnicell, QS1) for prescription processing
- Collaborate with pharmacists on clinical interventions and safety protocols
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and regulatory adherence in all operations
Qualifications
- Active Kentucky Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 3 years of hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in automated dispensing systems and IV admixture
- Strong knowledge of drug interactions and pharmaceutical calculations
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Basic computer literacy with EMR systems
- Valid CPR certification
