Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and oral hygiene.
- Medication Monitoring: Remind clients to take prescribed medications on schedule and report any adverse reactions or missed doses to the nurse.
- Companionship: Engage in conversation, play games, or read to patients to reduce isolation and improve mental well-being.
- Household Support: Perform light housekeeping duties including meal preparation, laundry, and light cleaning to maintain a safe living environment.
- Vital Signs: Measure and record blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates as directed by the supervising nurse.
- Transportation: Drive clients to medical appointments, grocery shopping, or social events.
Qualifications
- Certification: Valid State Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required.
- CPR Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification.
- Background Check: Must pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift, transfer, and position patients safely (up to 50 lbs) using proper body mechanics.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to document care accurately.
- Reliability: Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation.
- Experience: Previous experience in home health or long-term care is highly preferred.
