Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Medication Monitoring: Observe and report any changes in the client's physical or mental condition, including adverse reactions to medications.
- Companionship & Communication: Provide emotional support and engage clients in meaningful conversations and recreational activities to reduce isolation.
- Household Support: Perform light housekeeping tasks such as meal preparation, laundry, and light cleaning to ensure a safe and sanitary living environment.
- Transportation Assistance: Accompany clients to medical appointments, therapy sessions, and social outings as needed.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care plans, vital signs, and daily activities.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Certification: Current Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification/license in the District of Columbia.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in home health or personal care preferred.
- Valid ID: Proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
- Health Requirements: Must pass a background check and drug screen.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- Transportation: Reliable personal vehicle and a valid driver's license.
