Job Overview:
As a Home Health Aide, you will provide essential personal care and companionship to clients recovering from illness, injury, or aging in place. You will work one-on-one with patients to ensure they maintain dignity and independence in their homes.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates, and report any abnormalities.
- Prepare meals according to prescribed dietary restrictions and assist with feeding if necessary.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce isolation and improve mental well-being.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as laundry, cleaning, and changing linens, to maintain a safe environment.
- Transport clients to medical appointments, grocery shopping, and social activities using a reliable vehicle.
- Administer medication reminders as directed by the supervising nurse.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Aide (HHA) certification valid in California.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and First Aid certification.
- Valid California Driver’s License and clean driving record.
- Physical ability to lift, transfer, and assist patients with mobility (up to 50 lbs).
- Strong interpersonal skills with a patient and empathetic demeanor.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
