Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Meal Assistance: Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and assist with feeding if necessary.
- Mobility Support: Help clients transfer in and out of bed, wheelchairs, or cars safely using proper body mechanics.
- Companionship: Engage in conversation, play games, and accompany clients on walks or medical appointments to reduce social isolation.
- Household Assistance: Perform light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, vacuuming, and changing linens as requested.
- Vital Monitoring: Track and report daily health changes, including blood pressure, temperature, and weight.
- Medication Reminders: Gently remind clients to take their prescribed medications at the scheduled times.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED: Required.
- CPR and First Aid Certification: Must be current or willing to obtain prior to start.
- Valid Driver's License: Clean driving record and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Strong Compassion: A genuine desire to help the elderly and those with disabilities.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to listen actively and communicate clearly with clients and families.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently throughout the shift.
- No Felony Convictions: Must pass a background check and drug screen.
