Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Mobility Support: Help patients move around the home safely using provided mobility aids and equipment.
- Medication Monitoring: Remind patients to take prescribed medications and report any missed doses or adverse reactions to the nursing supervisor.
- Household Assistance: Perform light housekeeping tasks including meal preparation, laundry, and light cleaning to ensure a safe and sanitary living environment.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Measure and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration) as requested by the supervising nurse.
- Communication: Maintain open and clear communication with patients and their families regarding care plans and daily updates.
- Transportation: Accompany patients to medical appointments, therapy sessions, or errands as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Certification: Current Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is preferred but not always required for entry-level candidates with strong compassion.
- Experience: Previous experience in home care, assisted living, or geriatric care is a plus.
- Valid License: Valid New Mexico driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods; ability to lift and transfer patients safely (50+ lbs).
- Soft Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others.
- Background Check: Must pass a background check and drug screen.
