Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications and report any changes in condition to the nursing supervisor.
- Companionship: Provide emotional support and social engagement to reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness.
- Light Housekeeping: Perform light cleaning duties such as laundry, meal preparation, and tidying living spaces to ensure a safe environment.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and record patient temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure as directed.
- Transportation: Accompany clients to medical appointments or errands as needed.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date personal care logs and patient records.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; CNA or HHA certification preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience as a Home Health Aide or Personal Care Attendant is a plus.
- Licensure: Valid New York State Driver's License and reliable transportation.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal communication skills and a genuine desire to help others.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods; ability to assist patients with mobility issues.
- Background Check: Must pass a background check and drug screening.
- Compassion: Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude are essential.
