Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and oral hygiene while maintaining their dignity and privacy.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications and report any changes in health or behavior to the supervising nurse or case manager.
- Mobility Assistance: Help clients transfer in and out of bed or chairs, and assist with walking using provided equipment.
- Light Housekeeping: Maintain a safe and clean living environment by performing light cleaning duties such as laundry, dishwashing, and meal preparation.
- Companionship: Engage in conversation and activities to reduce loneliness and improve the client's emotional well-being.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and record daily vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature, as required.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required.
- Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in home health or long-term care is a plus but not always required.
- Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle are often required for travel to client homes.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Compassion: A genuine passion for helping others and the ability to work with people of all ages and backgrounds.
