About the Role:
As a Home Health Aide, you will provide essential personal care and companionship services to clients in their homes. You will be their eyes and ears, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being while they maintain their independence.
Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take their prescribed medications on time and assist with medication administration as directed by the RN or LPN.
- Household Support: Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and assist with light housekeeping, laundry, and changing linens.
- Companionship: Engage in conversation, play games, read aloud, or simply provide a listening ear to reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness.
- Transportation: Accompany clients to medical appointments, grocery shopping, and social activities using your own reliable vehicle.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and report changes in the client's physical or emotional condition to the supervising nurse or case manager.
- Documentation: Accurately complete daily care logs and progress notes to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Certification: Current Texas Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is highly preferred.
- License: Valid, clean Texas driver's license and current auto insurance.
- Experience: Previous experience in home health or long-term care is a plus but not mandatory for the right candidate.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Physical: Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods; good physical stamina.
- Attributes: Genuine compassion, patience, reliability, and a positive attitude.
