Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take their medications at scheduled times and report any changes in condition to the supervising nurse.
- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and personal preferences.
- Housekeeping: Perform light housekeeping duties to ensure a safe and clean living environment (laundry, cleaning, changing linens).
- Companionship: Provide emotional support and engage in conversation to reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness.
- Mobility Assistance: Help clients move safely in and out of bed, chairs, and wheelchairs; assist with walking using a walker or cane.
- Transportation: Accompany clients to medical appointments, therapy sessions, or social outings as needed.
- Documentation: Accurately complete and submit daily care logs and incident reports.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; CNA or HHA certification preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience as a Home Health Aide, CNA, or PCA is a plus but not strictly required for entry-level candidates.
- Licensure: Current Oklahoma state certification as a Home Health Aide (CNA) if applicable.
- Valid Driver's License: Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift patients weighing up to 200 lbs for extended periods.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a compassionate demeanor.
- CPR/First Aid: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
