Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Mobility Assistance: Help patients move around the home safely, including transferring from bed to wheelchair and ambulation support.
- Medication Reminders: Prompt patients to take their prescribed medications as directed by the nurse.
- Meal Preparation: Prepare nutritious meals based on dietary restrictions and patient preferences.
- Light Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and safe living environment for the patient.
- Companionship: Provide emotional support, engage in conversation, and participate in recreational activities.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the supervising nurse.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Certification: Current Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification preferred.
- License: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- Experience: Previous experience in home health or long-term care is a plus but not always required.
- Skills: Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for helping others.
- Background: Must pass a background check and drug screening.
- Physical: Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods.
