Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring dignity and comfort at all times.
- Medication Monitoring: Remind clients to take prescribed medications on schedule and report any adverse reactions or missed doses to the supervising nurse.
- Meal Preparation: Prepare nutritious, age-appropriate meals and snacks according to dietary restrictions and client preferences.
- Light Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light cleaning, laundry, and changing linens.
- Companionship & Activities: Engage clients in conversation, hobbies, and light exercise to promote mental well-being and reduce feelings of isolation.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record basic vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration.
- Transportation Support: Accompany clients to medical appointments, therapy sessions, or community outings as needed.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, up-to-date client records and logs of daily activities.
Qualifications
- Certification: Valid California Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience: Prior experience in home health or geriatric care is preferred, but we welcome enthusiastic new graduates for immediate hires.
- Driver's License: Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods as required by caregiving duties.
- CPR/First Aid: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is highly desirable.
