Responsibilities

  • Personal Care Assistance: Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting, ensuring their dignity and comfort.
  • Medication Monitoring: Remind clients to take prescribed medications at the scheduled times and report any side effects or missed doses to the supervising nurse.
  • Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
  • Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious meals according to the client’s dietary restrictions and health needs.
  • Housekeeping Support: Perform light housekeeping duties, such as laundry, changing linens, and cleaning common areas to ensure a safe and sanitary living environment.
  • Companionship: Provide emotional support and companionship through conversation, reading, and accompanying clients on walks or appointments.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date personal care logs and progress notes as required by state regulations.

Qualifications

  • Certification: Current Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required.
  • Licensure: Valid Florida state license and current CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Experience: Previous experience in home care, geriatric care, or a similar healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and families.
