Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Mobility Support: Help patients move around safely, including transferring from bed to wheelchair and walking assistance.
- Medication Management: Remind patients to take prescribed medications at scheduled times (where state regulations allow).
- Companionship: Provide emotional support and engage in conversation to reduce feelings of isolation.
- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and patient preferences.
- Light Housekeeping: Perform light cleaning tasks such as laundry, dishwashing, and vacuuming to ensure a safe living environment.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date daily logs regarding patient condition and care provided.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- License: Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation required.
- Certification: State Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) certification preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience as a CNA or Home Health Aide is a plus but not mandatory.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal communication skills and a genuine empathy for the elderly and disabled.
- Physical: Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Certifications: Current CPR and First Aid certification.
