Responsibilities
- Patient Intake & Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, medical history, and symptoms during examinations.
- Administrative Support: Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including updating electronic health records (EHR) and scheduling appointments efficiently.
- Clinical Procedures: Assist physicians and nursing staff with basic clinical procedures, including wound care, injections, and specimen collection.
- Lab Assistance: Prepare and process lab specimens according to strict laboratory protocols and safety standards.
- Communication: Act as a liaison between patients and medical staff, ensuring clear and compassionate communication at all times.
- Inventory Management: Maintain clean, organized, and sanitized exam rooms and medical equipment.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; completion of a Medical Assistant program is a plus but not mandatory for this entry-level role.
- Experience: No prior experience required. On-the-job training will be provided.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required upon hire.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient confidentiality and empathy.
- Computer Proficiency: Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new medical software systems quickly.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift patients or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive motions.
