Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with bathing, grooming, dressing, and maintaining personal hygiene to ensure their comfort and dignity.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications at scheduled times and report any changes in condition or medication adherence to the nursing supervisor.
- Meal Preparation: Prepare nutritious, client-appropriate meals and assist with feeding if necessary.
- Companionship: Engage clients in conversation, hobbies, and light exercise to promote mental well-being and reduce feelings of isolation.
- Light Housekeeping: Assist with light cleaning tasks, laundry, and changing linens as needed to maintain a safe and sanitary living environment.
- Transportation: Accompany clients to medical appointments, grocery shopping, or social outings as required.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current California Home Health Aide (HHA) or Personal Care Assistant (PCA) certificate or CNA license.
- Experience: Previous experience in home care, nursing, or geriatric care is preferred but not always required.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient and empathetic demeanor.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift, bend, stand, and walk for extended periods; ability to assist with transferring clients (up to 50 lbs) if necessary.
- Background Check: Must pass a background check, including criminal history and drug screening.
- Reliability: Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
