Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take their medication at scheduled times and report any missed doses or side effects to the nursing staff immediately.
- Mobility Support: Help patients move safely from bed to wheelchair or assist with walking using walkers or canes.
- Household Support: Perform light housekeeping duties such as meal preparation, laundry, and light cleaning to ensure a safe and comfortable living environment.
- Companionship: Provide emotional support and conversation to reduce isolation and improve the client's mental well-being.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Monitor and record patient's temperature, pulse, and respiration rates as directed by the supervising nurse.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely records of care provided in the patient's medical chart.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Licensure: Current CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) or PCA (Patient Care Assistant) license preferred; Home Health Aide certification is a plus.
- Certifications: Valid CPR and First Aid certification required.
- Driving: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience: Previous experience in home health or long-term care is highly desirable.
- Attributes: Must be patient, empathetic, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
