Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with bathing, grooming, dressing, and maintaining personal hygiene.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications and report any changes in health or medication side effects to the supervising nurse.
- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious, appetizing meals tailored to the client's dietary restrictions.
- Light Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment for the client, including light laundry and cleaning.
- Companionship: Provide emotional support and engage in conversation and activities to combat loneliness and improve mental well-being.
- Transportation: Accompany clients to medical appointments, social activities, or run errands as needed.
- Documentation: Accurately complete daily care logs and incident reports in accordance with agency policies.
Qualifications
- Valid License: Current California Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
- CPR Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification.
- Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (for clients who require transport).
- Background Check: Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, including drug screening.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a warm, professional demeanor.
- Experience: Prior experience in home health or personal care is preferred but not always required.
- Compassion: Genuine passion for helping the elderly and disabled population.
