Responsibilities
- Perform vital signs, EKGs, and basic laboratory tests under the supervision of the provider.
- Prepare examination rooms and medical equipment to ensure a sterile and efficient environment.
- Assist providers during patient visits, including drawing blood, administering injections, and performing minor procedures.
- Manage patient records accurately, including updating electronic health records (EHR) and filing medical charts.
- Coordinate patient scheduling, referrals, and prescription refills to streamline the patient experience.
- Provide patient education on medications, diet, and lifestyle changes to promote better health outcomes.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical setting is highly desirable.
- Strong proficiency in electronic health record systems (Epic, Athenahealth, or similar).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced medical environment.
