Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist physicians and nurse practitioners during medical procedures.
- Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rate.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, EKGs, and prepare blood samples for analysis.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records and electronic health records (EHR).
- Administer medications and injections as directed by providers.
- Coordinate patient follow-up appointments and manage patient inquiries professionally.
- Ensure the examination room is clean, stocked, and sanitized between patients.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience preferred; new graduates with relevant externships are encouraged to apply.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient satisfaction.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
